Stringing up the Snowflakes
Last stop on the (Decorating) Polar Express...our bedroom!
This morning I added a few simple holiday touches to our bedroom. In keeping with my room's colour scheme in - you guessed it, white and robin's egg blue, lol - I decided to add some icy snowflakes.
I created these sweet little snowflake garlands and hung them over the mirrors in the room, in order to get the benefit of reflection. I had the felt snowflakes on hand (from Debbie Travis's Christmas line), so I simply hung them across a piece of twine, tying them on with little knots as I went. The paper snowflakes which hang above the bed were created with doubled-sided scrapbooking paper, my Cricut machine, some twine and a roll of narrow grosgrain ribbon. (The snowflake is from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge, and I printed it in different sizes).
A few other wintery touches - like a white faux fur pillow, some silver and aqua ornaments, glittery reindeer and a tree- and voila - our room was transformed. With all these wintery touches, it actually feels chilly in there! All the more reason to curl up with a cozy throw, a good decorating magazine, and a cup of mocha java...mmmm.
Happy holidays!
